Fried Green Beans

What you need:

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons tamari
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 to 2 large pinches raw sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced

What you do:

1. Boil green beans for 5 minutes or until bright green. (If using frozen, skip this step). Drain.
2. Mix tamari, balsamic vinegar, and sugar in a bowl. Heat oil in large skillet. Add garlic and green beans and cook over high heat until slightly browned but still firm.
3. Lower heat to medium and add tamari mixture. Simmer until sauce is reduced. Serve on platter with remaining sauce poured over. Enjoy!
Source of recipe: I needed to find a way to get my son to eat green beans because I love them. This is it.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I followed to a t, except for the sugar, a little mushroom,  then added some arrowroot. It was delicious. I served it with beet salad, corn chowder, chick pea-tomato salad and fruit-berry crumble. The tastes of summer.

Great recipe! Very easy and tasty. I added some portabella mushrooms . They soaked up the flavor really well.

This is really great recipe - simple and easy! My boyfriend loves chinese-style string beans and I wanted to recreate a similar taste. I followed the recipe exactly and served it over brown rice as the main dish. I will be making this again! Especially in the summer when the farmer's markets are full of fresh green beans!
