Fat-free Orange Poppy Seed Bread

What you need: 

2 cups wheat flour
1/2 cup vegan sugar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup orange juice

What you do: 

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F, and spray bread pan with nonstick spray. In a mixing bowl, add flour, vegan sugar, baking soda and poppy seeds; mix.
2. Add vanilla and orange juice and mix just until you don't see any dry flour.
3. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 45 minutes, or until done.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

i just pulled this out of the oven and it was really good. i used white flour since i was out of wheat and i reduced the baking soda to 1 heaping teaspoon. i sprinkled the top with brown sugar and it was yummy! :D

:-\  maybe it's just my taste buds, as i have a cold, but i found this bread to be rather tasteless

Well I think it is supposed to be more of a bread than a cake. It shouldn't be overly sweet or tart.

I used 1/2 c oat flour, and the rest white because I was afraid of the problems that the other posters experienced. But I think the bitterness came from the baking soda. I suggest using less than half of what the recipe suggests. and doubling the sugar.
