SO HOW'D IT GO?

I love this dish, and typically add just cumin to the recipe and other veggies.  Today, I added fresh saffron straight from Morocco, then added about a teaspoon of curry powder.  It made the dish turn completely yellow, but it was amazing.

This was realy good.  I added some yams and white potatoes, carrots and celery (i cleaned out my fridge).  I also added a pinch or two of red pepper.  Thanks for sharing!

excellent! my husband and I just made this for dinner and he's non vegan and vegetarian..we ate it all up! we're both big fans of ethiopian food, it cured the craving.

I've made this a few times. Although I always just use a can of lentils... easier I guess. I also add a can or fresh diced tomatos to it. I've never gotten ginger and put it in there, but its still good

I've never tried ethiopian food before but wanted something different to do with lentils and this was perfect. It's also very high in fibre & protein, and I make it fat-free by sauteeing the onions & garlic in veg broth instead of oil. =)

+1 ,good

It was really good.  I used a lot more ginger and pepper but that may just be a matter of taste.

Here are my additions:
- cumin
- veggie boullion in the water

- peeled tomatoes (1 can)

Its simmering now, and looks so delicious!

Amazing dish and very easy to prepare if you're a first time vegetarian cooker. Tastes even better if you add extra veggies. My favorite is carrots. It's also very good with a bit (about 1/2 tsp) of cumin.

:P

This was my first dish to prepare all by myself! I was pretty excited, and in some serious need of some protien --of course I had heard all about lentils, and decided to give the recipie a try.

Being that I'm no guru in the kitchen, I didn't experiment and stuck 100% to the recipie. In my opinion, I had more fun making it than eating it. It turned out rather dry (plus the fact that I scorched the bottom x_X) and rather tasteless. It was a very healthy meal, but it just tasted like...beans.

I give it an 'alright' 3 out of 5.
