SO HOW'D IT GO?

mine came out hard, but i think i did something wrong! maybe not enough liquid?  and i did sub soymilk and earthbalance shortening instead of the butter.  the good news is i'm made them for "biscuits and gravy" so they'll soften up  :)

thanks for the recipe!

These are extremely simple to make and they are delicious.  I added fennel seeds to make them a little more flavorful.

These were OK for me. Very easy to make ... just kind of plain. I think next time I'll definitely use soy milk instead of water and I'll stick to white flour (I used wheat). I'll double the recipe too. For some reason, I only got 8 biscuits out of these, and that was even a stretch. Maybe I make mine extra big?

Otherwise, it's a good "base" biscuit.

these were great!  i subbed soymilk and added a pinch of sugar.  they rose very nicely and have a perfect texture.  12 minutes was perfect- they were light golden brown and very good.  mmm, so good with gimme lean gravy!

These were great!  I subbed soy milk with a splash of vinegar for the water to make them buttermilk biscuits.  Easy and tasty.  I didn't add salt and they were plenty salty from the earth balance and baking powder.  My 2 year loved rolling these out.

this recipe was a great base for me to improvise on. i used all organic ingredients, and substitutions were: used whole wheat flour, a pinch of sun dried sea salt rather than a whole teaspoon, cut the earth balance to 2 tbs, added approx. 3 tsp of ground flax seeds, a pinch of cinnamon, and about 1/2 tsp of sucanat.. only needed to be in for 10 minutes. they were delightful & my 15 month old twins kept asking for more (: we ate them with a little earth balance & fresh mango preserves. YUM!! will definitely be keeping this recipe. :)
i didn't roll them out and use a glass to cutout. i just put heaping tablespoonfuls into a glass 8x8. if i were having company, i'd probably put the extra effort to make 'em look pretty.  its not necessary though. anyway, the texture was nice and soft, not too crumbly inside and just enough bite on the outside. not overly crispy nor soggy.. just perfect! \/ peace

this recipe worked well! it happens to be exactly what i was looking for - the least amount of basic ingredients... perfect for when i'm broke because these ingredients are usually what's left in the pantry after everything else is used up. it makes a great, quick bread to go along with the last of veggies and beans for the week. they rose just fine. i did substitute some garlic and onion powder in place of some of the salt - can't really taste it, just not very salty. :)

The biscuits were very easy to make, but were a bit bland. I added olive oil instead of margarine and I also added basil, oregano, pepper and garlic to give them a bit of flavor.

These were great I added some no salt herb seasoning to the dough and boy were they good.
