SO HOW'D IT GO?

I halved the recipe. I didn't add no salt to it. I put veggie butter on it. Great recipe.

I love that they're slightly bland, because then they can be fixed up.  I added nutritional yeast.  It wasn't quite enough.  If I make them again (I rarely have flour), I'll also add Italian herbs.  I didn't find them overly salty at all.

Was looking for something cheap and easy to make and this looked right on point. I used whole wheat flour instead of white and ended up with a "heartier" biscuit. They were soft in the center, crunchy on the outside and rose nicely, even if they didn't get too huge. Will make again.

I made these biscuits yesterday. I made some changes: oil instead of margarine. They turned out well, not too soft though. I think it's because of the substitution that I've made.
I think I will try to make them again, next time I will add sugar and maybe raisins.

;)b Made these for dinner with a white gravy I threw together. I must say these biscuits came out awesome. I too added rice milk and rosemary and thyme to the batter, came out excellent. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I also added some onion and garlic powder, yum....thanks again for the easy and tasty recipe. Hope to enjoy for years to come. :)>>>

I used this recipe as drop biscuits, and added juice from a small orange and some vanilla to the dough, then melted EB and cinnamon-sugar to the tops after baking. I don't think they are too salty; actually still a bit bland. They were very easy, quick, and great for the ingredients I had, though. I could have baked mine a bit longer, and I made 11 biscuits.

I just made these biscuits and they were great.  :)>>> I substituted applesauce for the butter equally.  They turned out with a lovely crunch but soft inside - perfect.  I also made them drop biscuits - just dropped them with a spoon onto a cookie sheet. Great easy recipe. I plan to make then again with rosemary, but they'll be great with dinner.  I would think you could also add shredded cheese.

Does anyone know how to make homemade BISQUIK? I looked for the healthy version of it at the HFS but wasn't  succesful. I am craving some of this old ''IMPOSSIBLE APPLE PIE" I used to make a long time ago, plus a thousand other good biscuits, rolls and cakes recipes made with bisquik. I know theres gotta be a good healthy version around somewhere!!!!!

I do believe it's basically just flour, baking powder and salt.

*mmmm*! I've never made biscuits before, but I was looking for something quick that I could make with what I had left in the pantry. I made a few changes: Used soymilk instead of water, added a pinch of sugar, cut back on the salt, and added rosemary, thyme, and black pepper. They turned out great! The romsemary and thyme REALLY did the trick. Great, basic recipe.
