Deli style Tempeh

What you need: 

1 quart veggie broth
2 teaspoons liquid smoke
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 (12 ounce) block tempeh, sliced very thinly

What you do: 

1. Mix the veggie broth, liquid smoke, garlic, brown sugar, and pepper together.
2. Pour over the tempeh slices and let sit covered for at least 45 minutes.
This is great for a cold sandwich, or if you saute it with some onions, bell peppers, and add vegan cheese, it also makes an awesome hot sandwich.
