Corn Usal

What you need:

1 packaged or frozen corn
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
4 jalapaenos finely sliced
groundnut powder
salt
chopped cilantro to season

What you do:

Heat the oil in a non stick pan or a heavy based pot. When the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds. After they start crackling, add the cumin seeds and the jalapaenos.
The corn, if fresh, can either be microwaved and then added which saves a lot of time, or if using a frozen packet microwave according to the directions on the packet. Add the corn to the cumin and mustard seeds, and stir properly.
Then add the groundnut powder which holds the ingredients together. Cook for a while on a low flame, stirring occasionally.
Season with salt and garnish with the chopped cilantro.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I logged in after a long time.I was wondering what my recipe was doing here under "admin".

Peanuts are called groundnuts in India.

Glad you liked my recipe,we often make it in brown butter instead of oil,or top it off with brown butter.

Strangely enough I love it with ketchup.Try it,a few like it and a a lot don't.
