Cinnamon Brown Sugar Oatmeal

What you need:

1/2 cup water or soymilk (approximately)
1/3 cup quick oats
1 teaspoon ground flaxseed
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons organic brown sugar
1 teaspoon real maple syrup (optional)

What you do:

Boil about 1/2 cup of water/soymilk (or however much you prefer).
Mix together quick oats, ground flaxseed, and ground cinnamon.
Add 1/4 cup of the hot water/soymilk (or half of how much you will use), mix in brown sugar, stir in the rest of the hot water, and maple syrup if you want. Enjoy!

When I made this oatmeal, my 2.5 year old son actually ate it!  He has never agreed to eat oatmeal before.  This recipe was WAY too sweet for me, next time I will reduce the amount of sugar. When I made this I only used 1/2 teaspoon of maple syrup and I think I will continue to use that amount and I used water not soymilk (in my family we personally hate the taste of oatmeal with milk).

Okay, so I had to read through this recipe a few times before I got how you wanted it all to be put together. Basically, you cook everything together except 1/4 c soymilk and the maple syrup and add that last. I think.

It was good though.
