Beer Batter Bread

What you need:

3 cups self rising flour
3 Tablespoons sugar
12 oz. room temp beer

What you do:

Mix all together and pour into a regular bread pan..Bake 350 about 30 minutes or until lighly browned on top....Remove when cool enough to handle and place on rack.
Now..seems to me that you can add some cooked well drained veggies to this..I have used herbs and sun dried tomatoes in this vegan bread..I don't see why you couldnt use some dried bell pepper flakes or onions..or even some sauted and well drained zukes or carrots or frozen corn...I would not, howe'ver use anything like sweet potato, carrot or pumpkin puree as it is a moist heavy vegan bread to begin with...

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I honestly did not think it was possible to make bread this quickly/easily. Fantastic.
Put heaps of herbs, a bunch of crushed garlic and a few handfuls of sunflower seeds in the mix and it came out superbly, was especially good toasted with soup :)
Looking forward to trying again with different add-ins - this is a keeper of a recipe for sure.

One thing I forgot...use a flour sifter when you make this or and other bread. It makes a HUGE difference.

This bread is the easiest thing I've ever baked, and it was delicious to boot! It went over quite well at the BBQ/chili cook-off my friend had. The PBR works great, but now I have an overstock of crappy beer in my fridge. Oh well, that's what broke friends are for!

I want to try this. Is it better to use a dark beer or a light beer?

I would use pabst blue ribbon beer, its known for cooking .

SOOO good. One of the easiest and best bread recipes I've ever made. Very moist, and stays moist mmmmm. I used day old semi flat Heineken.
