OMG!  This is one of my staple recipes and it's very forgiving for whatever is on hand.  Once I even threw in spaghetti sauce in lieu of the tomato sauce because I already had some opened....always delicious and so EASY!  My husband loves it and I think he assumes it takes much longer than it really does  Smirk

This was awesome!  I never liked sloppy joes but figured I would try this anyways and I am glad I did.  I subbed red onion for the green pepper and added 3 cloves of garlic.  I used 1 tsp of chili pepper and couldn't imagine using more - I love spicy food but my chili pepper is VERY hot and 2 tsp would be way too much!

So I am eating this right now over some very dense wheat bread. Topped with vegan sour cream and vegan cheese.  This is my first experience with TVP so I will see how it works with my tummy, in the future though I could see subbing tempeh, gluten or even tofu crumbled into this.  It tastes very good, definitely needs more spice but I love spicy foods.  My omni husband will definitely eat it, It did make WAAAAY too much food.  However I think I will just freeze individual serving size amounts for later use.  The texture is good, even thought it could be a bit more liquidy. Next time I think  I will also use some bar-b-que sauce or liquid smoke for an even better flavor.  The only sub I made was red pepper instead of green since it was all I had and I used only 1/4 of an onion because my husband is not a onion fan.

All and all its good.  Needs some tweaking and I will see how it is on my tummy.

Great recipe! I made these for my family's fourth of July get together and everyone loved them! They are hard to please if they are not eating meat so I was quite happy that they enjoyed them. Smiley

These werent bad, they definately have excellent potential. I don't know why I'm not completely satisfied, especially since my husband went for seconds. I will try switching up the seasoning a bit next time.

I've never had sloppy joes before but this were amazing!!! I don't know if they are suppose to taste like sloppy joes but they taste awesome! I made them for my sister and she is a really picky eater, but she loved them...we had them for dinner, and then the next day for lunch....and to be honest, I'm craving some right now hehe Grin

These were fantastic! We used tempeh instead because it's what we had on hand, and we forgot the sugar  Roll Eyes oops. But still. Mmmmm. Thanks so much for an easy sloppy joe recipe! Its my first time having one in 3 years!

Very, very good. I was a little worried about adding the soy sauce and the mustard... but they really did the trick!

Oh man!!!  This stuff was so good!!!  I just made it for dinner and served it on the Burger Buns http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=15153.0 from this site (which came out fabulously also), whacked some tomato sauce, non-dairy spread and soy cheese on top, and it was good to go!!!  When I was cooking it I also added a can of 3 bean mix and some vege gravy as well to give it a bit more substance.  Oh and garlic of course because I'm addicted to the stuff!!!  Thank you so much for such a fab recipe!!!!   Smitten   Smitten   Smitten  (oh and I was going to take a lovely little picture after I'd taken a bite but once I'd had one bite I kinda couldn't stop so I'll have to try and take one tomorrow night before I devour the rest!!!)

So so good!! I added black beans, grated carrot, cinnamon, cumin, chili flakes, and balsamic vinegar. Ate it over toasted whole wheat English muffins. YUM!!
