Grillable tofu burgersIngredients (use vegan versions): Tofu Burgers
1 square of firm tofu (1/2lb)
1/4c of Tahini
1/2c ground walnuts
1t dill weed
1T Tamari or Soy Sauce
1C bread crumbs
Directions:Mash the Tofu with the Tahini. Add dill weed and tamari. Mix until well blended. Add vegan bread crumbs slowly until desired texture is achieved. The texture should be just stiff enough to form patties without being too moist. Form into patties and grill until brown on both sides.
These would be good with onion sauce or relish.

I made these in my skillet. I just can't let my tofu touch the flesh-soiled grill. They taste wonderful!

This was a very tasty recipe, even some of my meat eating family tried and liked them. (Tahini is sesame seed paste...similar to how peanut butter is, you can usually find it in gourmet or mid-eastern stores)

A good, basic burger, and very easy to throw together! The only thing I didn't care for was the dill seasoning; next time I make the recipe, I'm going to use black pepper instead, and maybe try a bit of finely-chopped onion with the moisture squeezed out so the burger mix isn't too gloppy. Otherwise, for convenience and texture and taste, a nice, simple sandwich filler.

Really good in a pita with tabouleh and runny tahini sauce. The directions do not say when to add the walnuts - we added them with the vegan bread crumbs. Adding a few seasonings such as salt, pepper and garlic powder really enhanced the recipe.
