Bulgar Wheat

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    4 cups boiling water
    2 cups bulgar wheat
    2 cups pecan meal
    2 onions chopped
    1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
    3 tablespoon sesame seeds,whized up
    1 teaspoon sage
    3 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 tablespoon parsley
    2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Add all ingredients to boiling water. Stir, simmer for 5 mins.  Pour into a roaster pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir every 30 minutes til mixture is dried out. It should resemble ground beef when finished.  I double this recipe then store in portion sizes in zip lock bags. Use in any dish reguiring ground beef. Enjoy!.

This is a great fake burger crumble or ground "beef" recipe.  I plan to portion it and freeze for later use.  I haven't tried it in anything yet, but did take a taste of it straight up and it seems like it will be perfect in any recipe calling for ground beef.  Nice to mix things up and get some fake meat without relying on soy!

This came out excellent.  I'm so grateful for a fake beef recipe that is cheap and easy to make.  Thank you so much for sharing this.
