Spheres of Decadence

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

1 cup peanut butter (any kind, or make your own)
    1 cup maple syrup
    1 cup wheat germ
    1/2 cup coconut flakes (optional)
1/2 cup whole grain nugget cereal

Directions:

Just mix all the ingredients together, then roll out into little balls any size you prefer.

Warning-- they are extremely rich, but fun to eat. Try substituting other nut butters for the peanut butter, or use a mixture for different flavors. If the mixture is too moist, add a bit more of the last 3 ingredients, if its too dry, more of the first 2.

I sometimes roll the finishe'd balls in a final coating of wheat germ for extra crunch factor.

You can also add raisins or any other finely chopped dried fruit, or chocolate chips. Whatever you think will sound delicious.

You can keep them in an airtight container on the countertop for up to 10 days. Kids love these things, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them, too. Good lunchbox item.

Serves: 10

Preparation time: 5 mins

I eat this as a snack.  It's easy to throw together and it seems to impress everyone who tries it.

This was okay.  Mine dough was kinda runny so I added in some oats.  That helped it stick together nicely.  Next time, I think  I might use oats instead of the cereal. I assumed they meant Grape Nuts for the "whole grain nugget cereal".  The pieces of cereal did not get soft at all and I think it threw the texture off.  The finished ball were soft and chewy with rock hard cereal pieces here and there....

I also thought this would be fabulous with some cocoa powder in mixed in.  Can't go wrong with pb and chocolate....mmm... of course, I didn't think of this until after I had already rolled them out.  Oh well, something to try next time....
