Flaming Tongue Salsa

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    2 diced habaneras
    2 diced red fresnos
    2 diced jalapenos
    1/2 diced yellow onion
    1 Tablespoon crushed garlic
2 16 oz. cans diced tomatoes (green pepper & onion kind)
    olive oil

Directions:

Coat a pan with olive oil.  Add everything except the garlic and tomatoes.  Saute on low heat for 10 minutes.  Add the garlic and tomatoes and cook until the salsa reaches the desired thickness (about 15 to 20 minutes).  Cool overnight and stir before serving.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Thanks for the recipe.  What is a fresno?

They are peppers.  In my grocery store, they have them under red fresno peppers.

WARNING: not for wusses!!  Being a chilehead I love it this hot, but for those who are not hot pepper connoisseurs beware: habeneros are VERY hot and not for the sensitive palate.  I halved this recipe, used red savina habaneros, and added some fresh cilantro and lime juice.  It was a little bit of heaven and a little bit of hell!!

I only wish I could handle something like this. I love hot stuff but I'm allergic (or really, really, REALLY) sensitive to jalapenos, so i'm guessing I wouldn't do so good with habaneros.

Great idea for salsa! What a kick! To add some color to the recipe try adding orange bellpepper and red onion! Red, orange, purple, white, and green! Beautiful! For zest add some lime juice too!
