have to add to the raving reviews..
made this last night for a thanksgiving potluck and it was the highlight of the meal (far outshone the turkey!)  i didn't add the white onion and used jalapenos and chipotle peppers, which i added to a homemade cranberry sauce with orange zest.  i served it with homemade baked pita triangles and served it on tofutti cream cheese.  no one even cared to ask what it was and i'm sure not one of them realised it was vegan Smiley
definitely a good thing to make if you enjoy receiving tonnes of complements on your cooking.  i was even told by some it was the best thing they ever tasted!

Thank you!! I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit!  I served it with wheat thins and some random cinnamon crackers I found, as well as some Tofutti.  The Tofutti was the only issue because a non-veg* called me out, but the salsa was honestly incredible!  I definitely agree with making it the day of (can't remember if that comment was here or in the thread,) as the following day, it tastes very onion-y.  It's not bad the next day if you like onions, but I don't know how well it would go over with your guests. Smiley  I tried to omit most of the seeds from the peppers due to the tastes of who I was serving, however, you can definitely get away with adding more seeds and still have it not be too spicy.  I will definitely make this again and thank you so much!!!

Does anyone have suggestions of milder peppers I could substitute for the jalapenos & serranos?   I'm very sensitive to spice and even a seeded jalapeno is too hot for me, but I still want it to be somewhat spicy, just scaled down to my tastebuds!

I decided to solve my spice problem by chopping up one jalapeno and one poblano (I halfed the recipe). It didn't go well. There was no spice AT ALL, which made it too sweet and onion-y. But I think this salsa deserves a second chance, so next time I'm going to:
1. try using the hotter peppers, guess I'll just have to taste-test as I go along
2. make my own cranberry sauce so I can leave out the extra sugar
3. skip the white onion
4. not serve the salsa over the cream cheese, as that got really watery and icky and added to the sweetness
5. add more lime juice
