Peanut Butter Frosting

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

1 cup smooth natural peanut butter
    1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup slour (I use whole spelt)

Directions:

Simply mix it all together, easy as that! This is very yummy, and is a healthier alternative to traditional cake frostings. Goes great with Super Moist Chocolate Cake on this site.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

slour is typo for flour. oops.

very easy and tasty! makes a very thick frosting. we put it on chocolate cupcakes and they taste super.

I used just unsalted natural peanut butter and added enough pure maple syrup to make it a drizzle for a bundt cake - no flour.  It was wonderful.  What a nice alternative to sugar frostings.

i made this just now, and it didn't turn out all that well.  It reminded me of the inside of a reeses. but not quite as sweet. i don't know, i love peanut butter and everything, but this recipe didn't seem very much like a frosting. very VERY thick. maybe for a filling or something..Huh

I'm just wondering... It says to just mix all the ingredients. if you use flour, doesn't this have to be cooked in some way? If you don't wouldn't it taste like raw flour???

I frosted some chocolate cupcakes with this and took them to a party. Everyone liked them, but they were a bunch of drunk college guys. I liked this recipe as a healthy alternative to other frostings, but I think if i just used cheap peanut butter it would taste close to the same.

I tried this and it was ok. It was really thick so 1/2 c flour is way too much in my opinion. Its good for chocolate cupcakes and I used sugar free maple syrup. PB would be good mixed with cool whip too, and would have more of a frosting consistancy.

Anyways thanks for the recipe~

sugar free 'maple syrup'? but the real stuff is so much tastier...even though probably not much healthier...
I've definitely mixed pb & maple syrup when I'm craving something sweet =)
