1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup carob chips or chocolate chips

Directions:

Put the peanut butter, carob chips and maple syrup in sauce pan. Melt together and then add nuts. After all is melted, place in spoonfuls on wax paper. Let it cool in refrigerator.

this is super good.  like a reeses peanut butter cup.  i used peanuts instead of walnuts.  and pour mixture into an oiled loaf pan and cut into squares.

Perfect, these really fullfilled my chocolate cravings. So easy, this recipe is a keeper.  I put the melted fudge in a mini-muffin pan with mini-muffin liners, they looked really cute.

this recipe is awesome! i had all the ingredients at home. super fast, easy & delicious.

do you use natural unsweetened peanut butter or will skippy suffice?

Archived comment by: lailaz
I'm sure your Skippy would work, but it has a lot of added sugar and salt so you may have to adjust the amount of maple syrup (but probably not, as this is a decadent dessert). Also, be aware that regular peanut butter is CHOCK full of hydrogenated oils. My boyfriend didn't love the natural stuff at first but he's gotten used to it and loves it now. Do your family a favor and buy the natural stuff. And in fact, one of the major peanut butter brands now makes a natural brand. Crazy Richards is also a great brand.

Unbelievably simple to make and taste so good!  Just like fudge you'd buy somewhere.  What a great snack.  I'll be keeping this recipe to throw together in a pinch when people come over!  Smiley  No one has to know how long it took me or the few ingredients....

I had all the ingredients in varied amounts, so I made a pseudo-half batch... Didnt really measure anything, so I think I added a little too much maple syrup for the proportions of chocolate chips, walnuts, and peanut butter. So it was a little too liquidy. I chilled the mixture for a while in the mixing bowl, and then put spoonfuls onto waxed paper. And THEN, I stuck my hands in iced water until they were freezing, and rolled the fudge into balls and chilled again. All that said, they were DELICIOUS, and beautiful texture. Easy too.  P.S. I used good old Crazy Richards. Good stuff.

Loved this!  Watch out, though, its super rich.  Dont make this unless you're good at rationing out your sweets--definitely not for those with addictive personalities.  I followed the measurements, but I made 30 balls rather than 15 (15 would be awfully big balls!).

Hey everyone, Here is another idea you could do. Heat the ingrediants together as the instructions say and then put it into a baking pan instead of rolling it into balls. You then can let it chill and slice it into squares.

Delicious recipe!  And, I found a way to make it even easier.  I wanted my fudge in bar form, and it occurred to me that I could melt the ingredients in the microwave in the *same* dish that I want it to set in.  Just put the syrup, chips and peanut butter in a microwave safe, relatively shallow, rectangular dish.  Stir well.  Microwave for a minute.  Stir well.  Microwave.  Repeat until everything is melted and well blended (should only take a few minutes).  Add the walnuts, stir one last time, and put it in the refrigerator to set.  Mmm, I feel deviously lazy.

This is great because if you want a small snack, you can just microwave one tablespoon of peanut butter and carob chips and a little less maple syrup, then add the nuts for a single serving. Then you can just stick whatever you used to melt it in the fridge.

I recently made these again for Christmas presents, along with some huge chocolate chip cookies.  This time, I poured the mixture into an oiled loaf pan and cut into squares after firming in the refrigerator for a couple hours.  I used chopped peanuts for the nuts.  This is so delicious and easy--everyone loved them!

This made the best fudge ever! The texture was right on. I followed one of the previous posts and microwaved it in the dish that I sliced it in.

I don't think happiness comes much easier than this.  I did a half batch, nuked for 1 min., then dropped by spoonfuls onto waxed paper covered cookie sheet.  I used chopped soy nuts and they taste great!

Once again, easy and delicious!  In this version, I used almond butter and chopped almonds.  Definitely give this a try if you're looking for a quick, nutty, chocolate treat!

you can never go wrong with chocolate & peanut butter.  i like willwolf's almond butter idea, but i'm tempted to use coconut for an "almond joy" effect.  will the calories ever stop climbing?!

Thanks for posting this excellent recipe- very cheap and fast to make- and made a LOT. IMO, the fudge is a little too soft (though might have been my fault), but when it tastes this good, who cares!

As a UK vegan, Snickers bars ('Marathons') are off the menu, and US-based Peanut Chews are too hard to get hold of, so this a perfect replacement!

These are pretty tasty.  It took several hours for the fudge to harden to the right consistency though.  They were worth the wait. Yum!

Mmmmm!  I used crunchy pb and left out the nuts.  I also poured it into a pan instead of scooping it into balls and had to eat the melty stuff out of the sides of the pan.  They're in the fridge right now but I already know they're delicious.   Grin

Very tasty.  A bit soft to be called fudge, but that doesn't really matter!  I put the mixture in the fridge for a couple hours before rolling it into balls and that helped cut down on stickiness.

I make something a bit like this using hazelnut butter, cocoa, and maple syrup--it tastes better than nutella!
