Halva Balls

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    half a cup of raisins
half a cup of macerated dates
    half a cup of tahini
    sesame seed for coating

Directions:

1) Place all the ingredients together in a food processor and blend until a thick paste is formed.

2) Shape into balls and roll in sesame seeds.

3) These are addictive!!!

Ihave all the ingrediants for this recipe. Can I use golden raisons & does thie have to be refrigerated because of the Tahini ? I'll rate it as soon as I try it. Thanks

Hey this is fairygarden again. Made the Halva Balls & I admit they were very good. I really don't care for sesame seeds, I was thinking a little powder vegan sugar instead. It will be even better after its been in the fridge awhile. Where does this recipe come from ?

Excellent! I may give these for Christmas, instead of cookies, as presents to friends.

Whoa! These ARE truly addictive....yum,I macerated the dates in orange juice ,which gives it a hint of oranges...thanks for this recipe!

Hi this recipe looks great, and I can't wait to try it, but I'm wondering what does macerated dates mean?  Does that mean just grinded up dates?

I really didn't like this recipe...as quoted by someone who tasted them:

"They kind of taste like dirt."

Just my opinion.
