Seitan Fajitas

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1 medium onion
1 green, red or golden pepper cut in long thin slices
    1/2 pound seitan
    1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
    tortillas

Directions:

Saute onions and peppers in a little oil until tender.  Add in the seitan, cumin and chili powder, and cook until seitan is hot.  Fold into a hot tortilla. Serve with rice and beans. Makes 3-4 fajitas.

mmm~mm  i just had some of these - its my new fav dinner. Thanx for the recipe!  I added in som eof the seitan marinade to keep things from sticking, and also added a little cornstarch to make it good and gooey. Throw in some chopped fresh cilantro & this dish is extra divine!!!

I've seen several recipes that include Seitan.  What is this? I've never heard of it. Please help!

Seitan is wheat gluten.  It makes an excellent substitute for chicken and beef in vegan recipes.

Made this last night along with Authentic Mexican Rice.  This was my first experience using seitan, and it came out great! Nice and chewy, very good!  Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

These were the best fajitas ever and super easy.  I added some portabella mushrooms, paprika, and like 5 cloves of garlic. They were terrific!

mmmm.. good stuff.. i made this into a fajita bowl, due to my lack of tortillas, but abundance of tortilla chips.. the only thing i added was the juice of 1/2 a lime to perk things up a bit, and a little salt cuz i had pure chili powder instead of the salty chili powder spice blend.. yum!
