these were good.  all y boys liked them including my husband!  I added green peepers, red, green, and white onions, and mushrooms.  And I also mashed the beans a bit so they wouldnt roll off the tacos and served them in hard and soft shells soooo good!

This recipe has become a staple in our house!  It is so damn simple, but i swear, now i'm convinced its a million times better than the meat ever was. I mash the chickpeas up a bit so that they are easier to manage, but other than that I make it just like the recipe says.  It is so nice to have tacos again!

After a 9 hour work day and a visit to the gym, this is the perfect meal to come home and prepare. Quick, easy and tasty! One of my favorite tacos ever!

I love garbanzo beans and tacos so look forward to this, but just wondering if I'm out of garbanzo beans has anyone substituted pinto beans or done 1/2 pinto with garbanzo if they only had 1 can?  I admire people who write their own recipes -- great job!

This was indeed very simple to do. I found that by replacing half of the garbanzo beans by black beans gave a pretty delicious result as well.

Made this tonight for dinner, even my meat-eating fiance thought it was great!  He calls it taco hummus.  It just so happens he loves hummus (he would probably eat it with a spoon if I didn't hand him chips [actually he'd just lick it out of the bowl]) so this is a recipe that will definitely be going in our recipe binder.  I cooked it with two cans of chickpeas, juice from one can and taco seasoning, and then added a can of vegetarian fat-free re-fried beans, four chopped hot peppers and mixed it all together into a kind of paste.  Put black olives, tomatoes and lettuce on top, and it was delicious.  Thank you so much for this awesome recipe!!!
