Peanut Butter Cocoa Banana Smoothie

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

1 banana (frozen or room temp.)
    vanilla soy milk (as desired)
    2 tablespoons flax meal
    2. 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
    2 tablespoons peanut butter

Directions:

Choose the size of glass.  Cut up banana, and place in glass.  Pour soymilk over banana, into the glass, to the level preferred glass.  Pour soymilk, and banana into blender.

Measure in flax meal, cocoa powder, and desired amount of peanut butter. Blend for approximately. 20 seconds. on various speeds.  I start with the Blend setting, and then transfer to Whip, and last do the Frappe.  The idea is to have the liquid look frothy.  I look for bubbles on the top.  Pour into the original glass, and enjoy!

This is a great source of potassium,  protein, calcium, and B-12(if using fortified soymilk), and Omega-3s from the flax meal.  It is a great start to a day, along with a yummy bowl of granola or oatmeal.

This is a great smoothie for breakfast or as a snack.

Serves: 1

Preparation time: 5 min.

ok, now this is LUSH, lol. i was dubious, so i only made a little bit, i didn't have all the right ingredients, and i didn't use the right measurements- and it was STILL lush. i think i used about 2 cups of rice milk, a teaspoon of cocoa powder, 3 teaspoons of cashewnut butter, and 2 drops of liquid stevia, and i just put it in a glass and and attacked it with a stick blender. it came out good. i bet it would also be just heavenly if i used a frozen banana.... and maybe some spices (im not too good on spices- but perhaps nutmeg or cinammon?) anyway, its mighty tasty :-)

Delicious! We didn't have any flax, and we had to add a little extra peanut butter to balance out the cocoa---it was so excellent!

So yummy - I used frozen bananas, no flax and then added some vanilla. Totally decadent!!

these were super naughty and oooooh so good! my boys loved them and they are WAY picky. i used a frozen banana and quite a bit of soy milk to make it thin enough for them to drink easily through a straw.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but this just didn't turn out for me. I had the flax, omitted the peanut butter (I had none) and put in a bit of sweetener. It just didn't work for me. It was too thick or something.. maybe I'll add more Silk next time to even it out.

I don't make this exact recipe, but when I make my version of a PB/banana/carob smoothie, I find it's nice to throw in a teaspoon or so of instant coffee powder. It add's a little somethin' somethin'. Also, a pinch of salt can help bring out the PB flavor. Or even a pinch of cinnamon. Or all three!

pretty decent, I used about 2/3 - 1 cup of soy milk and added a bit of suger.  Pretty thick, and very heavy tasting.  all in all not bad.

Very tasty, though with the amount of peanut butter suggested I had to add another banana to balance it out.

This was yummy! The texture that the flax seeds added made me feel like I had used crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy, which made it more filling for me (a purely fluid texture just doesn't fill me up- I need something I can chew on :-P ). I would def recommend this to my friends. In fact, I think I'll make one for my housemate to try later!

That sounds really good. I have never made smoothie with peanut butter. Especially not the Banana Smoothie, as that is one of my favourite and I like it the old classic way.
I am gonna try this recipe now.
