Wow, this is an amazing dish!   I'm a big lentil fan, and this is my new favorite lentil dish!

I made this last night and it was really good and easy. I cooked the onions forever because I like my onion well-done. I used pre-crushed garlic and ginger; so I estimated one semi-heaped teaspoon to one clove of garlic. And I don't much like ginger so I only put one teaspoon of ginger in. I thought I was going to have trouble getting the lentils to a thick paste consistency and I did, but it didn't matter. The spices seemed like a lot when I was adding them to the garlic, but they were perfect.

A very delicious recipe, that my boyfriend couldn't eat fast enough. We loved it.

Very good!  I added a veg bouillon cube to the water and threw in a cubed potato too.  I love this dish, thanks for the recipe!  Smiley

This was FANTASTIC! I made it for a friend a week ago and it was a big hit! We added a bit more curry powder and some cardamom because we like spicy food and I got stuck making it with green lentils in place of red, but it was delicious.

I will definitely be making this one again and again!

Followed the directions perfectly except that I didn't have any ginger. This is an excellent recipe. I made a double batch and froze half of it. Leftovers will be great Smiley

Very good recipe. I only used about 1/2 the curry. Also, I didn't have canned tomatoes so I used 1/2 can leftover tomato sauce and one chopped fresh-from-the-garden tomato. My 2 and 4 year olds also liked it!

I also omitted the red chili powder- too spicy for the little ones!

This stuff is amazing! I love the fresh ginger and garlic. I probably put in double the amount suggested.  Tongue

Just made this, used extra garlic, onions, and ginger, smells wonderful.  Making some brown rice and fresh steamed kale on the side.  Sneaked a taste, too die for. Grin   Thanks for sharing.  Oh yeah,  used canned diced tomatoes with garlic and oilve oil. Wink

This was the first recipe I've tried on this website after surveying for months on end and what I have to say is that it was utterly delicious! The only substitution I made was subbing a tomato since I had no onion and paired it with curried bhindi. <3

I will definitely make it a lot since it was soo simple and easy!

YUM! This recipe turned me on to Indian style cooking.  It is a standby for a fast dinner and its great served on top of couscous.
