The seitan roast recipe from this site is AMAZING.  Especially if you roast some root veggies in with it. mmm....

SQ, I agree that pumpkin pie (or something else that is soft) would be best.  I was always under the impression (from my nannying days) that nuts shouldn't be given to kids under 3 or 4 years old not only because of choking, but also because of allergies.  I think kids are much more prone to develop nut allergies if given nuts before this age.  I'd skip the pecan pie this year, or at least don't give him any.

SQ seitan is really yummy (i make it homemade) i've seen some seitan roast type recipes that look yummy.... as far as grinding up the pecans? i dunno... maybe pumpkin pie would be better for a youngin?

Seitan roast sounds good, I made one one time that was meant to be sliced for sandwiches and it was good, I bet I can make a version of that!  I love seitan.

What seitan roast are you talking about?  Is it the recipe called "gluten roast" because that looks GOOD but it has no reviews.
