Smokey White Bean Chili

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

2 1/2 cups cooked great northern beans
    3 cans (14 oz/ea) stewed tomatoes
1 cup green bell peppers, chopped
    1 cup yellow carrots, chopped
    1/2 small yellow onion, minced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    4 tablespoons chili powder
    2 tablespoons hickory bacon salt
    2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
    2 tablespoons liquid smoke
    1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Cook white beans according to directions on bag. Put everything in a large crock pot. turn temperature to high and let stew for 6-8 hours. Be sure to stir every once in a while so nothing burns, especially when you are closer to the 6 hour mark

Serve with cornbread!

Source of recipe: this year i decided to switch up my typical chili recipe, and went for a smokey white bean flavour.

Makes: 1 crockpot (serves 4-5), Preparation time: 30 minutes, Cooking time: 6-8 hours

i´d really love  to try this. But I doubt i´ll find hickory bacon salt or liquid smoke anywhere in spain.  Undecided
Has anyone any idea what i could use to replace those ingredients?

maybe chipotle peppers? i think those are smoked. if you do that though, don't put in the red pepper flakes! otherwise it would be too spicy.

Looks like a great recipe, but I have no idea where to find hickory bacon salt either, so plan to use smoked tofu, smoked tofu made into bacon, or make up a recipe of tofu bacon to add, in lieu of.....
Happy cooking!

in the US, you can find hickory bacon salt at most major grocery stores - in the spice section.   great idea about subbing the chipotle peppers!
