Yummy Button MushroomsIngredients (use vegan versions): 1lb small to medium button mushrooms
1/4 cup any vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon dry basil
4 garlic cloves
oil for frying
salt, pepper
Directions:MARINADE:
Cut garlic cloves in 3. Mix water, garlic, basil, salt, pepper and vinegar in fairly large container with a lid.
MUSHROOMS:
Cut into half or in 4 to 6 slices depending on how large your mushrooms are.
Put mushrooms in marinade, close the lid, shake well and let it stand in a fridge for at least 3 hours.
Drain mushrooms (you can now remove garlic of you don't like it) and heat oil in a large frying pan. Fry mushrooms until golden tossing constantly for about 5 minutes.
Serve as a side dish, in sandwiches, salads or stirfrys.
