Really good! I've made the other microwave brownie recipe, and it was not appealing. This is pretty much a perfect micro. brownie. I used the 2 tbs cocoa, and eyeballed the baking powder. I also used whole wheat pastry flour, and the soymilk. Walnuts were a great addition, and I would have added chocolate chips if we had some. 1 min. 30 is good if you're going to let it set, but more time if you're not. This is probably not a good thing...

Thank you for for posting this recipe!!! My craving for chocolate was so intense I ate half the batter before it made it to the microwave. But then with such a small batch it only took one minute to bake, so it was a win-win situation.

This is not what I'd call a brownie, but it is seriously good and perfect comfort food.  I have a 650w microwave, I cooked the brownie for 1 min 30 secs but for me it was too dry.  Yesterday I did it for just 1 min and it was fab!  It was still gooey in the middle, so it was like a chocolate fondant or "melt in the middle" pudding - neither of which I've seen vegan recipes for so this fitted the bill perfectly!

Has anyone tried substituting some or all of the margarine with applesauce to lower the fat content?  What about replacing the sugar with Splenda or similar?

Just an FYI: Splenda is not vegan.

oh geez.  i can't believe i just ate the whole thing... well, almost!  definitely chocolate-d out for a while now!

i used regular sugar (trying brown next time!) and added some chopped walnuts.

i have a 1100 watt microwave and nuked it for 1 min. 15 sec.  it was nice and soft in the middle and a little more firm around the edges.  i might do 1 min. 5 sec. next time.

yeeeee-ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!  Smiley

So I was having a little pity party for myself tonight, sitting alone with nary a Hallowe'en party in sight. I decided that I would make this as my treat to myself for being such a lamer.

So effing good!!! I added cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut and coconut extract. So good!! Thanks for the recipe.

I didn't have any cocoa powder, so I  just used  vegan chocolate chips and melted them first.  When I was microwaving them to melt them, I almost burned down the apartment, or at least set off the fire alarm because multitasking when melting chocolate chips is not a good idea!  Or I guess I should have melted them on the stove, but it just seemed like such a small amount to melt, that I thought microwaving them would be perfectly fine.

Anyways, even though it wasn't with cocoa powder and I didn't really measure the amount of chocolate chips I used, it was nonetheless really scrumptious!  I haven't had brownies since I became vegan I was craving the chocolate!

Thanks for this recipe!  It really hit the spot!  I will make sure to share it with my other vegan college friend! Smiley

This recipe is so yummy and such a good idea! I like to use brown rice flour, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, and I always end up adding a little extra almond milk (I like vanilla unsweetened for this) to get it just right. I often cut the recipe in half and make it in a little bowl for myself, but my bf likes the whole recipe. I cook the whole serving on 70% power for 1:50 and I cook the half recipe on same power for 1:30. We like them a bit gooey. What a great idea!

Okay I remember when i was a kid, and you'd get those tv dinner things with the brownies that cooked in the microwave and you'd always be like "omg thats so cool, seriously how do they do that" Well not only did you do magic but its vegan and sinfully good. I got fancy and decorated mine with 4 pecans and an almond for the photo. Plus i made a chocolate drizzle for mine. I also made mine with a full 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and 21/2 tablespoons of espresso for the "liquids". You gotta try this, I give this like 10/5 stars, its seriously that good!

Chocolate Sauce topping:
20g of a vegan chocolate bar
1 tablespoon chocolate soy milk
2 drops maple syrup (or honey if you like)
--

microwave 30 seconds, stir well and drizzle while warm!
