New to being vegan due to health issues, this sandwich really hit the spot for something easy and simple!   Wink  I actually prefer this over a regular grilled cheese!  I added some green peppers, and a dash of salt and pepper... wow.  Super yummy!  Thanks!

Mmmm! I thought this was delicious and I just happened to have the ingredients. I found this recipe just in time for lunch..   Smiley
I added garlic powder and pepper and next time I will add some tomato and red onion and perhaps some romaine lettuce. I enjoyed everyone's comments and versions of this sandwich too. I will try adding lime, cilantro and tomato sometime.

"mmm....m! Yummy goodness!"  "I could just eat 100 sandwiches just like this!" My six year old son's words.

I bought avocados at the store today just to try this recipe. I am so glad I did. I pretty much did as the recipe suggested - just added a spinkle of salt and buttered just one side of the bread. And Veganaise on the inside of course.

Oh, ok...my son, Jayden, just told me that this was the sandwich of his dreams.

I was thinking that some alfalfa sprouts would really add some crunch to this sandwich. Totally going to make it again. Smitten

Mmmm Good idea crazy tree hugger! I am going to totally steal your idea of the sprouts and have this for supper tonight! I will let ya know..

I never thought I'd like avocado, but when I saw this recipe in my email (vegweb weekly recipies) I had to try it.  It's sooo goos that I don't even miss grilled cheese anymore.  Not that it's cheesy-like or anything, but it's sooo good!

I had 2 because one just wasn't enough.  I plan on making more tomorrow.  I'm glad I bought a bunch of avocados for this!  MMmmmm  And it takes just minutes to make.  Doesn't get any better.

Wow, I made this on whole wheat bread with tomato, chives and veganaise and it was delicious! I just wish it wasn't so fatty so I could eat them all day long. Smitten

I know that I've already commented this recipe, but this sandwich is so amazing and easy.
My boyfriend and I make it all the time.

I just wanted to let folks know about another VW avocado sandwich that I personally prefer:

http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=20732.0

I've been eating this sandwich for a long time now and only recently decided to try the Grilled Avocado Sandwich since it has such rave reviews. While this grilled version is a tasty treat, ther other is a regular in my household - it's quick, easy, and has a lot of healthy fats in it from olives and olive oil. Just wanted to share in case others were interested!  Thumbs Up

Very good idea. I didn't know what to do with my avocado, and so I made this. And then I made it again!

With lots of salt and pepper, it's definitely even with grilled cheese for taste and that classic texture. And it isn't processed! Win.

I LOVE this!!!    Smitten

I mashed up my avocado, and sprinkle a little onion and garlic powder in it.  If I am feeling really saucy, I'll add a few slices of tofurkey slices to it also.  So good.  So easy.  So delish!  A wonderful way to use avocados before they go bad!!

Thank you!

I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this sandwich turned out. I just used tomatoes and avocados on the sandwich and it was perfect. I also used garlic salt on the toasted sides of the bread. Mmm. Thanks for the recipe!
