Healhy Bars

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1 1/4 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup oil
    1/4 cup cold water
    ******
    1 diced medium sized apple
    1 tablespoon cinnamon
    2 tablespoons water
    ******
homemade granola with texturized soy protein
    ******
chocolate for melting (I used vegan chocolate sprinkles)

Directions:

Mix the first set of ingredients together. It will be like a pie crust texture. If necessary add more flour..set aside.

In a plastic bowl mix second set of ingredients and put in microwave for about 3 or 4 minutes.

Divide the dough into 12 small balls and roll each ball out into a thin layer.

In the middle of each dough thing spread some of the apple-cinnamon mixture and some granola. Roll up like an egg roll and cook for five minutes, flip it and cook for another five minutes until both sides are well browned.

While they are cooking, in a glass bowl place 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles and 2 teaspoons water and melt well.

When bars are done, spread with chocolate mixture and top with granola.

Each bar has 140 calories.

Serves: 10- 1

i really want to make these bars for my daughter who has a lot of sports camps this summer and I was wondering about how much granola you used and if you can taste the protein powder (she hates it)

Can soy flour be used in the place of the soy protein?

I haven't tried making these, but the way I read the directions, it sounds like you cook them stovetop.  Can anyone confirm this?

It sure looks that way, in a frying pan. I imagine it would work in an oven at 350, minus microwaving the insides first.
