Buffalo Hot Wings

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

veggie chicken (non-breaded) -such as veat, or vegan chicken strips
    vegan buttery spread
hot sauce, we use Louisiana brand hot sauce

Directions:

Saute veggie chicken in vegan buttery spread.  When cooked, drown in Louisiana hot sauce…(not to endorse, but we have found it tastes the most like hot wings).

Serve with cold vegan ranch dressing and a good non-alcoholic beer.

Tastes just like your college days!

This is the recipe on the Louisiana Hot Sauce bottle.

I often use Tofu. Love it.

my friends in buffalo used to melt the "butter" and add half a bottel of louisiana crystal hot sauce, and fry the wings in the butter, then bake for about ten minutes.

Can't wait to try it with vegan ingrediants!

Pretty good. But if you live in Buffalo, you used Frank's RedHot.
For some reason we use Frank's with everything. Most people from Buffalo eat bleu cheese with everything. most vegans from Buffalo eat Frank's with everything.

i just made these and they rock!!! i totally missed chicken wings until about 5 minutes ago. i think next time ill try to deep fry the "chicken" first to crisp it up a little...but these are stellar.

yum!  i was in a lazy, sinful mood, so i decided to try these - so glad i did!  i didn't measure anything: just dumped some EB and Louisiana Wing Sauce into the pan, cooked for about 12ish minutes, and then baked for about 8 minutes a la Socks' suggestion.  sooo good!  spicy and perfect!

MMM!

I cant wait to try this! But instead, I think I will bread the chick'n in egg replacer and flour, and deep fry them before adding them to the butter/sauce mix...this should make them crispy and more realistic!

So simple yet so satisfying! My boyfriend and I made these along with tacos, and he wrapped some of the chicken strips into his taco. This is a keeper for us! I might experiment with different sauces. I tend to prefer the more vinegary hot sauces. For anyone who hasn't had Louisiana wing sauce...it's good, but after a couple of strips it got too hot for me.

veganaise +  dried dill, dried parsley, onion pwd., garilic pwd., salt, pepper. (all to taste) + a little red wine vinegar for a buttermilk taste, or black pepper for a peppercorn taste.

This is soo good! If you have a Kroger's grocery store where you live they carry Hooter's wings' breading mix. We dipped the strips in soymilk then breaded them, fried them and drenched them in Franks wing sauce and used Tofutti Sour Cream as our dipping sauce, oooooooh they were sooo good! My my eating friend had no idea it wasn't real chicken until I told him! Booyah game day food!

Delicious! Made twice, with safeway brand veggie chick'n. First time I baked it as one member's suggestion, and turned out too hard. The second time I just fried them a little longer, and they were a lot nicer to eat. Drenched them in louisiana hot sauce...yumm thanks!
