Spinach Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1/2 cup apple juice
    1/2 bunch spinach, chopped
    1/2 cucumber, chopped
    1 banana
wheat grass powder or other greens
    1 tablespoon ground flax seeds

Directions:

1) Put all ingredients into the blender and let it fly. I recommend putting the lid on the blender to speed clean up.

This is an excellent morning meal, as well as vehicle for herbal extract/tincture supplements. The above amounts create about a quart - one serving for me, two for mere mortals. I can drink the entire concoction before 7 am and be fine until lunch.

Makes: 1 to 2 servings, Preparation time: 5 minutes

I tried this on a whim this morning, although I used almond milk in lieu of apple juice and frozen blackberries as the fruit. Very filling, indeed. I usually make smoothies with silken tofu and had to make adjustments for the light grocery week I am currently on, but I didn't even miss the soy!

This was my first attempt at a green smoothie and it was fantastic!!  I used 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen pineapple, 1/2 cup frozen spinach, 1 small persian cucumber, 1 cup soymillk and 1TB flaxseed meal.   It made a tall, hearty glass of good stuff!!  Definalty try it.

I made something really similar.. I used 2 small frozen bananas, spinach, blueberries, raspberries, and since i'm out of soymilk and never buy juice i tried using unsweetened applesauce.  it worked great!  when i was almost done with it I added a dash of cocoa powder for a little chocolate/fruit concoction - yum.

What's great is that this is really hard to mess up. You can pretty much add any fruit combination and it works!  I used baby spinach, half an apple, a banana, some ground flax seeds, half tsp nutritional yeast, and it came out super awesome.  But it looks pretty scary... yea.

This Was SUPER Yummy!!!   Thumbs Up

I did make adjustments, and I didn't measure anything. This is what I did - 2 Sm Bananas, 1/2 cup or so Frozen Blueberries, 1 bunch spinach (broke off at the leaves), 1 Tblsp Ground Flax Seed, and 1/2 Cup or so Light Vanilla Soy Milk!!!

Oishii !!!

(I posted a pic above of my concoction)

This was great! I added some frozen blueberries and it still came out really well. It definitely opened me up to adding more greens into my smoothies. Thanks a lot!
