German Dogs

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

    1 pkg of veggie dogs
    1 medium vidalia onion (sliced)
    2 Granny Smith apples (diced)
    2 tablespoons caraway seed
    1 can sauerkraut
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 tablespoon sugar

Directions:

All the above you can throw into a crock pot and let cook all day if you like. I find it best to put things in there in the morning and then take them out around dinner.

I am German and this meal does it for me. :-) . Potato dumplings go great with this! It’s quick and simple and if you like German food as I do its economical and delicious!

God Bless Morningstar Farms (veggie dogs).

Serves: 4-6

Preparation time: 5 minutes + cooking

I can't wait to try this recipe!! But isn't Morning Star not vegan? I could have sworn there was milk or something in it.  Huh

A very yummy recipe.  I used Smart Life dogs instead of Morningstar, and I used a sweet white onion, not vidalia.  Anyways, it still tasted great.  It was sweet, yet "meaty."  Thumbs Up
