This recipe is truly yummy.  I had no trouble finding any of the ingredients and it tasted great!  Even my carnivourous (sp?) little sister liked them.  They taste extra yummy with the cinnamon mixed in and some sugar sprinkled on top.
The only problem is the batter was a little dry.  I put in some extra vanilla and a whole cup of applesauce.

i'm not sure if i somehow made a mistake or something, but i made these cookies at night and when i came back to them in the morning, they were already hard...maybe i rolled them too thin (I used cookie cutters)... I will try it again Smiley

P.S.  I also used extra applesauce because it seemed a little dry at first.

My dough turned out very crumbly, I don't know why.  Perhaps I need to add some extra applesauce like the other folks, though I didn't have anymore.  They're in the oven right now, so we'll see how they turn out.  They smell very yummy though!

Okay, the first batch didn't turn out too good.  Crumbly and not very good.  I put some soy milk in the second batch and they turned out pretty well.  I also think the reason they didn't taste too great was the fact I used olive oil for the oil.  I'll definatly use vegetable next time Smiley

The dough might be crumbly because of too much flour added to the recipe.  Don't forget to sift your flour before you measure it - this is very important!  (a cup of unsifted can be significantly more than a cup after it is sifted).

I made these tonight with whole wheat pastry flour and they were excellent.  Even better topped with some vegan cream cheese icing!   Tongue

Very tasty indeed! My dough was too dry at first as well. I added a bit of soy milk and it helped the problem but did not fix it. Perhaps I will try vegan butter in place of the oil. I think it would make for a more smooth and less crumbly dough mixture.

I didn't have a problem with dough dryness, if anything the dough was too greasy (which is fine to roll out with but a little leary to eat)  Make sure you leave the cookies thick for ultimate deliciousness.

I subbed some of the sugar for stevia, left out the cinnamon and iced them.

i agree with ashley. mine came out quite greasy. one question: to what thickness do you roll the dough out to?

I realized too late that I didn't have applesauce, so I threw in half a banana and ended up with banana cookies.  They were probably the most contradictory food I've made in a long time- the dough was both greasy and crumbly and they cooked up crispy and chewy at the same time.  Next time, I will use applesauce.

These cookies were a lot of fun to work with. Smiley
I've had bad experiences with sugar cookies while putting them into shapes; the dough would be either too runny or too stiff, but this one was just right!
They're cooling right now, I'll post pictures up as soon as I get a chance Smiley
Thank you!
