Merchant Marine Beans

What you need: 

cooked brown rice (equal to one cup uncooked)
1 can navy beans (or any white beans)
1/2 tomato, diced
2 cloves garlic , finely chopped (if you like it garlicky like us)
fresh basil (about 5 leaves)
black pepper to taste
white pepper to taste
oregano to taste (we used lots)
salt to taste

What you do: 

quick, cheap, and delicious! serve in fancy dishes and it almost looks gormet. almost.
Cook rice according to directions.
About 10 minutes before it's done, spray some non-stick spray in a pan. Add garlic, let fry for a minute or less (depending on how hungry you are). Add tomato. Drain 2/3 of water from beans, Add them to the garlic and tomato.
Tear up basil into little pieces, sprinkle on top of beans along with other spices. Let cook for a few minutes, until a good bit of the water cooks off and the tomato is soft.
Serve over rice.
