I made this last weekend and took the advice of *kmouse*  I added garlic powder and would have added onion powder, but didn't have any.  I liked it.  Some are commenting that it tastes more like egg salad or not at all like chicken salad.  I've never eaten either one.  So, to me, this tastes like true chicken salad.   Thumbs Up

Meh the first day, awesome the next day cold! I used celery and left out the salt. The only bad part is the onion breath...

Okay so no joke, Ive eaten this for two weeks straight...Its really about as close as you can get to the real thing. I added almonds, grapes, and apples, and yup I love it. I reccomend mashing up the chickpeas very well, otherwise they fall off your bread Smiley

My 3 year old and I just finished making this together. He loved chipping in helping to mash the chickpeas. Smiley I added some garlic powder for flavor. Next time I will only use a 1/4 of an onion as I found the onion taste a little too strong for my liking.

OH MY GADFREY!  I made this last night to have around for lunches.  I used apple instead of pepper and added some dillweed.  I tasted it this morning after the flavors had time to blend and now I can't wait till lunchtime! Thumbs Up

lol when i made this last night i made a double batch thinking that even if my husband didn't like it there would be my lunch for several days.  NOT  my meat loving spouse demolished it! 2Funny

Very good recipe.  We had it for dinner on split foccacia bread and I'm taking it for lunch in a wrap.  I used 1/2 lite sour cream and 1/2 mayo, both green pepper and celery, and for seasoning added some McCormick's Grill Mates Montreal Chicken seasoning.  Takes great!  Will definitely make again.

Delish!  I used maybe a large tablespoon of soy mayo and mustard together.  Added cherry tomatoes, celery, raisins, paprika and garlic powder.  Wrapped it all up in some lettuce for lunch.

I added celery and garlic salt and used just a little less 'mayo' - it was perfect!  Even my picky five year old son likes it!  Thumbs Up

This is one of my all time favorite 'go-to's'.  I make it whenever I am in too much of a hurry or when I am just feeling too lazy to cook.  I switch the seasonings and added veggies around alot...it all depends on what I have on hand.  I like to make a little extra too, to I can have some the next day because I think it tastes better after it sits a bit.

I have to say that I was hesitant also about it tasting like real chicken salad, but it does!!!  I made it like I have in the past using celery and tossing in some red grapes, raisins, curry and/or apple.  Sometimes I'd prob drizzle a bit of raw agave in, depending on what I have on hand in the fruit dept.  Its awesome.  Now I won't have to miss the real thing anymore!  Even hubby likes it a lot.

I was verrry skeptical of this recipe because I'm not really a fan of chickpeas. But it's delish!! I added red peppers and celery and just a little bit of garlic powder. Yummo! Will be lunch for the next few days and definitely thereafter! Thank you so much!

easy..delicious...great recipe.  I opted for celery over peppers, omitted the onion and added a bit of sweet relish.  I also used Veg-e-Sal in lieu of salt.  This is one of those great finds.  Very affordable and a snap to whip up.  Thanks!

This is very tasty and would go well in sandwiches or wraps, but I wouldnt say it tastes like chicken salad because it doesn't. Not at all. But it is good.
