Delicious Millet PattiesIngredients (use vegan versions): 1 cup cooked millet
2 cups quick oats
1 cup bread crumbs
3 tablespoons sesame seeds (toasted)
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon sweet basil
1/8 teaspoon oregano powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic granules
2 tablespoons grated onion (any kind)
if you want it, additional salt to taste
1 tablespoon Extra Virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon cereal coffee
Directions:Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Add water till soft (but not mushy) and you are able to form patties (or if you want them for an entree, tiny meatballs with toothpicks on them). Place them on an oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 30 min. or till golden brown. If you want, you can serve them with your favorite gravy or sauce if they are to accompany a dish. These are versatile, you can also serve them with a lot of sauteed onions and peppers on top.
Enjoy!

Preparation time: About 1 hr.
These are easy to make and tasty! You can also serve them with a simple sweet-and-sour sauce like this one: 2 cups pineapple juice, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/2 tsp. garlic, 1/2 tsp. powdered ginger, 1 tsp. onion salt, 1 tablespoon orange juice. In a small saucepan, mix all the ingredients. Heat them up, stirring with a whisk until slightly thick. Glace patties with this sauce.

What is Cereal Coffee? I've never heard of that.

Whats cereal coffee? Please forgive me for the lingo, I grew up vegetarian and that's how my mom used to call Pero, Roma, and all the other coffee substitutes in the market that were made out of cereals. You can even substitute roasted cashews if you like, but roast them until they are pretty golden brown to give color and flavor to the patties. Youd be surprised how much flavor they add! Also, you may, if you want to, to change the recipe a little (at home we play a lot with our recipes), substitute 2 cups cooked millet and 1 cup oats, or 3 cups millet. This time you have the complete recipe and really hope you enjoy it, its really very tasty.

Not bad, but a little dry. Does anyone have any ideas for juicing them up a bit? Or can you direct me to a moister patty I can stick in a hamburger bun?
