this soup is really delicious! I used most of the optional ingredients, I think the sesame oil,soy sauce,  ginger(lot's of it) and lime juice are essential, I didn't have any chili oil so I added some red pepper flakes. Also used green onions and added some cilantro(because the flavor  goes well with the lime juice) and I don't think I wanna make  without it. Also I didn't have any  pot stickers, instead I added a little bit more noodles and tofu. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!  Smitten

Smitten YUM! Made it tonight - finally! And it was the best tasting, filling soup ever! I think I boiled it a little too hard because my dumplings fell apart  Undecided. No matter, still yummy!!!!

I thought this was alright... I left out the greens and lime juice because I didn't have any... I only added a squirt or braggs and it was way too salty for me.

This soup is ridiculously simple and quick to make but packed with so many great flavors. I eyed a lot of the measurements as far as Bragg's, red pepper flakes, and powered garlic. I used frozen edamame, broccoli, & cauliflower; fresh mushrooms & shredded carrots; and canned baby corn. Skipped out on the dumplings only because I didn't have any. Topped it off with some chili and sesame oil. So freakin' good and filling! I'll post pictures next time I make it.

I used this recipe more as a guide, but I think that's the way it's meant to be used.

No potstickers.
Snow peas instead of edamame (allergic to soy).
Soba noodles instead of rice noodles.
No greens, but added: sliced frozen green beans, 8 oz. sliced mushrooms with the frozen brocolli.
Cayenne pepper, garlic powder and fresh ginger for spice and flavor.

Oh and I tripled the recipe.

Simple and delicious  Thumbs Up.

We had this tonight and ate it all!  So delicious - no doubt we are making this again!  Here were my ingredient choices:

- Omitted the bouillon cubes - I always just use water as a base because any kind of broth or bouillon is way too salty to me
- Increased the water by 50% (wanted to make sure it was still soup-y, with how much stuff went in the pot!)
- Edamame and pot stickers - I got Ling Ling brand vegan pot stickers at a local health food store - the soup would be fine without but I liked having them in there
- I did use the soy sauce (probably 1-2 tbsp) and plenty of ginger
- Veggies: 1 sliced carrot and about 6 sliced shiitakes along with the broccoli and spinach
- I used rice sticks which were a pain when I was ladling but I think I'd rather have them than a thicker noodle.
- At the end: Yes lime juice (1 tbsp or so), no oil.  Also added two chopped green onions and 2 tbsp miso

Update! I made this again, and for the first time in forever followed the recipe to a T. I was inspired to do this because I found mini wontons (Ohana brand) at the Whole Foods, and I immediately thought of this soup. I put them in just a minute or two before the soup was done, and they were the perfect size!

Omni hubby liked it too--but he's a sucker for wontons.
