VegNews Book Club! Let's all join!

http://vegnewsbookclub.blogspot.com/

They'll be reading both fiction and non-fiction works, hosting discussions, and chatting with superstar authors. They'll read one book per month with a new discussion every week, and build your knowledge of the cruelty-free lifestyle we all know and love.

Sounds awesome, the first book is Mad Cowboy by Howard Lyman!

Everyone join so we can read together! Pretty please!

Ooooh. I might be in. I just need to see how cheap I can get the books!

I'm up for it!

For anyone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend, here are some suggestions:
Libraries!
Friends who may have the book.
Amazon.com> Used Books
http://www.abebooks.com/ -You can sell your textbooks here (they pay the shipping) and also buy used books here.
http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php  -Here you can trade books with other people. You post a book, when someone orders it from you you pay for the postage and send it to them and you receive 1 credit. That credit allowd you to request a book from someone else (and then they pay shipping to you).

I like this; I'm in.   ;)b  May I suggest "The Pig Who Sang to the Moon" by Jeffrey M. Masson as a future choice?

Update:  I've reconsidered.  The books VegNews has picked out are all "Preaching to the Choir" type of books.  Meaning, of course, that veg*ns reading them have already made up their minds that factory farming and eating sentient beings is wrong.  I think I'll just continue in my local book club and in my own reading choices.

I'm about to download "Second Nature: A Gardener's Education" to my Kindle.  I think I want to read books that are more how to live as a part of nature than the animal rights movement type books.

I think I'm gonna try this.  Just checked and the library has all of these.

Not sure I'll be able to pick up the first book by the date you've put for the first discussion post, but I'll try.
