Vegan episode of Top Chef Masters!!!

I love Top Chef, despite all the grossness that's usually in every episode. So I was very excited when they found out that they'd be having to cook lunch for Zooey Deschanel and her family and friends. I highly recommend this episode to everyone. It's super exciting, I think. The chefs were kind of clueless, which was sad. I think that anyone here could have done a better job. But really, it was great. Watch it!!! :D
haha the juges made laugh with their comments, especially the comment where's the beets touched on "the vegans seemed so surprised, god knows what they get to eat". haha i mean to be a food critic i would think that you need to be well rounded in the area of food! the best vegan place ive ever eaten at are candle cafe and quintessence, a raw vegan rest. in NY. that food was absolutely delicious and totally not bland nor beige. maybe what zooey meant by the "i only get to eat raw veggies" is that thats all she gets when going out to eat a non vegan places? who knows, i still love her:)!
I think Zooey meant that she only got to eat raw veggies at social gatherings. I think we've all been there.
Maybe. In SoCal there are a plethora of vegan restaurants and every gathering I've been to here has had something either outrightly vegan or veganizable. It's a perk of the locale.
But is it also gluten free?
About this episode: I thought it was really funny that they had no idea what to do without dairy, eggs, meat, or gluten. I've been silently begging Food Network to do something vegan. It's not Food, but it made me happy.

yeah, vegan and gluten free AND soy free! that's actually pretty tough to find most places.
I saw that a while back - yeah the chefs were clueless! People think vegans eat 'rabbit food' all day. I can't remember much about it, but it's the first episode I watched in a while. I used to love Top Chef, but it really turned me off when they killed and cooked the live eels. I love fish, and eels are very cool. :(
