Not vegan...yeah, yeah. We did have that one challenge, though!
Anyway, I know a lot of us watch it, so let's discuss. This season is ok so far. Kinda sad that the first girl to go made a seitan dish, but she shouldn't have made it so crappy, I guess. I think the 2 who have gone so far have been the right choices. Kevin might be my favorite, both of the brothers are good, and I like Jessie even though she's been in the bottom a couple times.
Oh, it was sad that some of the chefs were upset about the bach. party challenge, but I totally understood.
where are the new episodes?!!
Top Chef notes
*Mike is an ahole and if I were Robin I would have threw a biscuit at his head or WORSE.His douchy ways exceed her annoyingness.I hope he leaves before her so he can go cry to his mommy.
*I'm sad to see Ashley go. It seems the little chubby guy that I dont care for sabotaged her with the salt...much in the way Mattin sabotaged her with the asparagus.
* I don't care for the little chubby guy's outlook or his comments. Chubby guy, please pack your knives...
* I did not know that Padma was pregnant, though I did notice that she put on a few pounds and speculated. I like her voice she could be a good hypnotist( I assume)
* I think that the reason jen was sick was because of too much alcohol the night before. But once again, I am just speculating.
*haha I think it's cute that Brian got all huffy and defensive of his little bro. Not that is was called for, but still... cute.
Anyone watching tonight??? Natalie Portman is supposed to be the guest, right? She just wrote a piece in Huffington Post about reading, "Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer and going from a vegetarian to a vegan activist: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/natalie-portman/jonathan-safran-foers-iea_b_334407.html. Anyone read it?
Anyway, looking forward to her episode but I have to wait until tomorrow to watch it b/c I don't have cable! ARG!
The main thing that interested me was the banana polenta.
Buttttt, i was thinking they'd do vegan, not just vegetarian. (though everything was ALMOST vegan.)
I was still excited that everything wasnt pretty much all meat. And how they were all excited for the steak and meatyness that they thought they were doing and got told that, hah.
"I do like to cater to vegetarians, I mean, they're people too." Robin said this.
I just felt it was post worthy.
I was hoping for more. A lot of the dishes werent worthy of being a main course.
And the leek is 'like' the protein? come on.
I'm glad Kevin won, but geezus those dishes sucked, those chefs really didn't have a clue when they had to cook outside of their comfort zone, I really wished they had to cook vegan...no butter...they really would have been lost...I REALLY want Kevin to win this...He's just a really NICE guy, and one hell of a chef. And I'm really glad Mike went home..he's an A$$hole.
I just watched it today, thanks to my dvr! I know the portions were small and kind of pathetic but they did eat seven plates full of food. That has to be taken into consideration. But yeah, two bites of anything isnt a meal.
For once Eli put out a nice dish but just hunks of eggplant? Why didnt he take the small ones from Jen and stuff the little rounds with the lentils?! That plate at least looked more balanced overall even if he provided barely enough bites to satisfy a hummingbird.
I am pulling for Kevin and Jen if she stops sabotaging herself!
I totally teared up during this episode.
Part 1 of the finale is tomorrow! Is anyone else as excited as I am? Who do you guys think are going to be the top three? I think the title is going to be between Michael, Bryan, and Kevin. I love Jen, but I think tomorrow night will be the end of the road for her. :'(
Kevin all the way! I forget which one of the brothers it is, but i think one of them is leaving tomorrow. Just because i think Jen is stepping her game up.
