Question about MSN Games page

OK, bear with me, friends. We all know that the Yabbit is a technotoddler who would be far more comfortable in the early 20th century than the 21st, and it's amazing how thick I can be. I need an explanation in words of one syllable.
I've visited the MSN games page, both the US and UK versions. In order to save your place in a game etc. you have to have an account, which stands to reason. But the lack of explanations is confusing. Do you have to have a Hotmail or MSN.com email account to create a Games account, or would my Yahoo! Mail account do?
And if I sign up and use it, will I get a lot of Spam for using the page?
And is there any money involved?
Ok, I give up. I posted this Q on three different forums and either no one knows, or it's too complex to explain, or it's so obvious they're unable to respond. I'll just play online without saving or anything.
You probably just need to create a games login. No big deal. Don't click "yes" to receive things, and if you want, make up a fake email. If they are going to send you something to confirm your account, then you can't do a fake email. You don't have to pay.
So my yahoo! mail address would work, then? Or do I need to create a Hotmail account? Because that would be a drag. Spain's servers do not get along with Hotmail.

I don't think yahoo is going to work to sign you in...it is MSN games. I guess you'd need to make an MSN account. I don't really know, though. You just need to go, and see. I tried it for you, but I already have a hotmail account, so it's just using that. Just go and try what it will let you do. It won't bite.
Well in my right mind and shakin' all over, I created the account. Yahoo worked OK. I know I'm paranoid about these things but I didn't want to create a hassle for myself. I figure if it all goes pearshaped I can delete the account, after all...I didn't want a hotmail account because Spain's branch of hotmail gets hacked into regularly.
I dunno if I'm paranoid because I'm agoraphobic or vice versa but I'm sure they're related.
