Author of Vegan with a Vengeance no longer a vegan?

"It shocked us all to see Isa unwrap a slice of Kraft cheese and add it to her own burrito. Isa didn't see the big deal. She explained that the godfather of animal rights, Peter Singer, had convinced her that there's no harm in eating "only a modicum" or egg or dairy.
"I'm really OK with animal products, as long as they're responsibly produced," explained Isa, "you know - free range, organic. Obviously, the animals need to live a natural life. I'm completely opposed to factory farming." Disturbingly, she didn't seem to see a disconnect between this outlook and her career as a vegan cooking icon. "Of course my business and books are still vegan. It's an important market segment, and I've built a strong brand. I won't be turning my back on the vegan community."
--Shame on you Isa! How can you say that Kraft cheese is remotely free range, or organic, or anything that is considered part of vegan ethics! Don't call yourself vegan if your not. Peter Singer would say to do it the utilitarian way and this is not the utilitarian way, do what's best for the whole! Think about it.

Yeah, it does appear to be an April Fools joke, but if you found this out about any of your favorite vegan authors would you stop purchasing their books?

did you notice on thie link provided that Supervegan says her friend and cofounder Olivia totally decided to eat popeye's chicken after hearing about Isa and was a vegan herself. She was posing for the camera not actually eating them.
The date of the blog post you linked to is April 1st. I agree with one of the commenters--this is probably an April Fools joke. I'll hold "judgement" until I see confirmation from another source. A brief bit of googling didn't find one.

I don't think I would stop buying her books. As long as she has good vegan recipes, that's all that matters, no matter who the author is, vegan or not. She has a right to make up her own vegan recipes and put them out there.

I wouldn't stop buying her books, but the only cook books I buy any more are vegan. ;)

depends on why she chose to stop using animal products, if it was health oriented...Id probably still buy her stuff. if it was an ethical decision, I wouldnt give her another penny
Besides, if Isa WERE going to cheat, goodness knows it wouldn't be for American cheese (Kraft no less)-- that stuff is putrid. :P
Her Cheeze-y recipes taste more authentic than that disgusting excuse for "cheese food product" ever will... When I was a cheese-aholic in my younger days, I wouldn't go near that stuff with a ten-foot pole. What was it made out of, seriously?!
