I just read the preview summary for the next episode of American's Next Top model which is airing tonight. I am not sure if it has already aired in the states or not but it is titled "Where's the Beef?". I though it odd so I read the summary and apparently the girls will be having a photo shoot in a meat packing district and they will be posing with and wearing meat.
I cannot believe they would actually do this. I can see there being many complaints about this and plus it is just gross. I am not sure what the purpose of this would be but I am not planning on watching it. I just had to bring this to peoples attention because it makes me sick.
I just watched this over an hour ago. I was totally grossed out! Really, I didnt see a point to it, it was just gross...then one of the judges made a comment about it being sort of relevent to modeling because "if you want to make it in the model world, then you'll realize that sometimes you get treated like a peice of meat"...grrrr it was totally pointless! I don't know why I watch that show, after this episode I'm totally reconsidering, blehhhhh >:(
That sounds GROSS with a capital G! I wonder if we can get some of the pictures to post....just for the sake of the full gross out!
I have never watched that show and after reading this, I certainly never will. That's just gross! >:(

For a moment there, I actually thought America's Next Top Model was moving in a more socially conscious direction, raising awareness of mental/medical conditions as well as exposure to new cultures.
Sadly, this show has sunk to a new low.

Sigh. I had to see this for myself. Not only are they wearing meat outfits in many of the pictures, but they are depicted in a butcher shop with hanging meat all around. Behold, Exhibit A:
It is really troubling to me that anyone can think this is sexy or even appropriate. It says a lot about how far removed "meat" is from the animal it came from in our society. That people can hold dead flesh against their bodies and not be uncomfortable reveals a scary numbness.
This makes me really really sad. I think I might write them a letter.
That picture is not beautiful on any level. It is gross and sickening blech. I do not know how those girls could agree to that.
The only positive I can see is that people who watch the show who have never seen a slaughter house or meat locker might be grossed out and not want to eat it anymore? At least some behind the scenes stuff that people don't think about is getting exposed. ???
i watch the show regularly ( :-[) and it was pretty nasty. what bothered me is that all that meat they they sewed into little meat panties and meat skirts and meat bras and meat tops is going to be tossed out.
That pissed me off too BP. My friend and i were talking about how gross it was because, not only is it meat, but just the point that it is food! I would also think it was gross if they posed in a vat of black beans. It's food. It should not be wasted on stupid shit like that.

I usually watch every season and find it to be a good show, but this ruined it.
I haven't been watching this season and now I am glad I missed it.
