Weekly Giveaway: Thrive Foods by Brendan Brazier! luvcupcakes is the winner!

I just got back from Portland, where I spent the weekend with the fabulous crew from VegNews at Vida Vegan Con, the first ever vegan blogging conference. It was probably the most fun you can have while sober, and I think we cleared Portland out of all its vegan food. I'm bummed to get back to real life, and definitely in need of some detox. To help me get healthy without going crazy, I checked out Thrive Foods by Brendan Brazier (http://www.amazon.com/Thrive-Foods-Plant-Based-Recipes-Health/dp/0738215112/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1300393325&sr=1-3). The superstar vegan athlete's latest book teaches you how to eat to live, instead of living to eat. Po-tay-to, po-tah-toe. Plus, its filled with all sorts of info on being the healthiest vegan you can be! I suggest you place the book next to a bag of vegan marshmallows in your pantry to achieve true balance.

To win a copy, let us know what your Labor Day plans are!

Giveaway ends Tuesday, September 6 at midnight, winner will be selected randomly, must live in USA to win.

Good luck!

p.s. Are you getting the VegWeb Weekly? It's our free and food-filled newsletter and you can sign up by just entering your email on the home page or on this page in the left hand bar!

Let's see...this weekend I'll be heading downtown for a festival called "Pig out in the Park", lots of great food, beer and little craft vendors. We also might go up to "Greenbluff" which is a HUGE area of town that grows tons of fruits and veggies that you can buy or even pick yourself, they're having a peach festival this weekend and they always have tons of activities for the kids and lots of good food too. Can't wait!

Nothing too fun planned, except cooking. I will be packing since I'm moving soon, but I don't know yet where I'm going. Divorce sucks.

Labor day is my birthday, but since I'm pregnant and huge, my plans include lying on the couch and eating cake.

Having some family/friends over for a vegan grill out. Then let all the kids make some homemade ice cream with our new ice cream maker. We'll go to the park to enjoy nature. It will be a blast and am looking foward to it. Might even go swimming at the park.

No serious labor day plans set yet, other than enjoying a day off from classes. I will actually probably end up cooking for a good portion of the day in order to have delicious vegan goods for the week :)

I probably will sleep in and be lazy.  Doesn't sound exciting, but I work 6 days a week, so to me it's very exciting!!
