Weekly Giveaway: Recycled Clutch Purse from Ecoist! tiffyqueen is the winner!

Vegans love fashion. It's true. We don't all subsist on a steady diet of birkenstocks and hoodies made from recycled potato bags. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If you haven't checked out the latest issue of VegNews, you're missing out on a great article about green fashion, it's a must read. Do you know what else is a must read? I have a column in the magazine, AN ADVICE COLUMN! That's right, you can "Ask Laura" any question you want, and I'll give you an answer. It'll probably be a really sassy answer. So go get your subscription today (http://vegnews.com/web/pages/page.do?pageId=4)!

Okay, that was a detour but I'm back on track now and hear to tell you that this week's giveaway combines fashion and recycling into an ultra chic small clutch bag from Ecoist (http://ecoist.com/). It's adorable and you need to own it, end of story.

To win the clutch, let me know what your St. Patrick's Day plans are!

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, March 16th at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random!

Good luck!!

hmmmmmmmmm no plans really...maybe I'll make a vegan shammrock shake?  maybe wear a little green?

Is it any clutch in particular? I love this bag: http://ecoist.com/pc/catalog/GV%20(01)_md.jpg

I don't think we have any plans. I've never really "celebrated" St. Patrick's day (I celebrate my own Patrick!), but one time I listened to an Irish band at an outdoor thing.

That bag has silk!
I like the coke zero bag.

Oh! I didn't even think to look at components. Don't give me that one, then.

I have to go to work... so... I'll be working. Maybe colcannon for dinner?

I'll make Irish Soda Bread for the kids' breakfast, play a mix of my favorite Irish bands on my drive to work, and talk the hubby into watching a repeat of PS I LoveYou.  We'll all wear green, of course, but pinch each other anyway.  I love St. Pat's Day.

I will again marvel at the Chicago River being turned green for the day!

I like that black coke zero purse too. I hope I'm not too tired from work on St. Patrick's to try an Irish recipe for dinner.

i'll be going to the gym that morning for my triple fat burner class.. although i would only consider it a double fat burner, tops.  then i think im off that day (and the day after) so i may meet up with another funemployed friend and have some daytime drinks or watch the parade (or both).  i should probably bring along snacks to sustain us, maybe mint brownies?  of course, i will probably just jam my cash into my pockets since i don't have a cute clutch bag which will lead to me accidently dropping bills when i pull my money out and potentially getting pick-pocketed.  as you can see, i really need this bag.

I'll be pretending I'm Irish for the day! That includes making some of these St. Pat's Day recipes from VegWeb! Cheers!

On a serious note, on St. Patrick's Day, I'll be taking my terminally ill friend for a pedicure. I savor every chance I have to spend time with her.

Yes!  It needs to officially become Talk Irish Day.

I have a meeting at work that I suspect will be bowels-of-hell painful, so afterward I may round up some peeps and attempt this unauthentic recipe --> Vegan No Alcohol Irish Cream, but mixed with Irish whiskey

I like the concept, but Ecoist About Us reads:  We make our products using pre-consumer waste collected from factories that discard them due to misprints and overages. Instead of having them end up in landfills, we use them as raw materials for our products.

It's not "waste" yet at that point.  It's still a commodity that would either be recycled in-house, or in this instance, sold.  I don't understand how anything has been kept out of landfills.

I have a really important presentation to give that day, but I'll try to make light of it all by handing out green-colored cookies!

I'm thinking sugar cookies will hold green dye the best...

I have climbing club, so maybe I'll take clover cookies!

Looking to take full advantage of green, my favorite color, and any excuse to make cabbage :)  I love cabbage!  Great holiday for me.  My friend is in town for a couple weeks so maybe we'll kill some time before my night class.
