Fresh off the vine warm from the life giving summer sun, or chopped with basil and a good olive oil salt and pepper and cucumbers on pita bread. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm yummy, summer and tomatoes go great together! :)>>>
Sundried! I loved sundried tomatoes with pasta or in salads and I love to eat them straight-up as a snack. As a kid I grew up eating fresh tomatoes sliced with salt on them... but since then, I've learned to not eat so much salt :P
Salsa fresca!!...diced with red onion, cilantro, jalapeno, fresh lime juice and if im feeling fruity some fresh mango or pinapple, yumyumyum. I ca eat a bowl of it plain, so good, so fresh.
On a veggie sandwich.
Or tlts :)
sliced on pizza or in gazpacho
there is this new differant yummy way i have been eating toms . . . slice the tomato thinly . . .cutting the bottom off so it will sit flat and of course you need to core it too. . . put the bottom slice of tomato on a nice slice of multi grain crusty bread that has a spread of veganaise . . . on top of bottom slice of tomato sprinkle liberally some nutritional yeast and place another slice of tomato and continue this layering until your tomato is put back together with the nutritional yeast between each layer. sprinkle with some pepper and have a nice lunch... eat it with a fork and knife.
mmmm sliced on marmite toast/sandwich is a pretty mean way to enjoy tomatoes...
I love tomatoes in sauce on pasta.
My favorite way to eat tomatoes is right off the vine.
In a sandwich; sliced thickly, surrounded by basil and really hearty multigrain bread.
I used to hate tomatoes. Now, thanks to the Sandwich that Got My Brothers to Eat Tomatoes (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=12720.0) I have learned to LOVE them. It's still my favorite way to eat those plump little fruitables (my word for fruits that should be vegetables). I think I down that sandwich at least 3-4 times a week.
Ooooh, homemade tomato jam with tons of cumin and garlic and a bit of agave nectar. Er, *perhaps* I maybe did or did not eat an entire jar of it yesterday for a snack...
Naked (the tomatoes, not me) and straight off my plants! In the spring I grew Matt's Wild Cherries, Red Fig Cherries, Paul Robeson, Black Krim, German Red Strawberry, and French Jaune Flamme. Nothing beats an organically grown heirloom right off the vine.
I love tomatoes either plain (cherry & grape tomatoes, especially), cooked into a fresh pasta sauce, or made into salsa!
Favorite way is probably on a pizza! But they're also good other ways! Like on a grilled sandwich, perhaps.
Salsa Salsa Salsa! Olé!!!
I'm sure it's been said.. but I'm going to say it again. Bruchetta.. with lots of black olives, artichokes and tomatoes on toasted Italian bread drizzles with olive oil. delish!
There are so many fabulous ways to enjoy summer tomatoes! One of my current favorites is to make a fresh/raw salsa and eat it on top of avocado slices. Yum!!
