Weekly Giveaway: Appetite for Reduction! winner is mamarati!
Well, she's at it again. Vegan goddess, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, has written a book that makes healthy eating sexy and delicious. I'm impressed. I mean, we all knew she could do it for cupcakes and cookies, but Brussel sprouts? She's gone above and beyond. Appetite for Reduction (http://www.theppk.com/books/appetite-for-reduction/) is the perfect cookbook. It makes healthy food delicious and brings perspective to the phrase, "diet food". No more chemicals and fake foods, these are whole foods that make you feel a whole lot better. I'm also excited to see a book about nutritious eating that isn't just about weight loss, but rather about becoming a healthier you. Pretty freaking cool.
For your chance to win a copy, let me know what your favorite winter veggies dish is.

Minestrone soup with a red wine tomato broth
Either roasted squash or a potato/parsnip mash. Yummm!
My favourite winter veggies dish is butternut squash soup with maple syrup. Yum.
Roasted brussel sprouts with garlic!
I love any kind of soup, but I especially love Sonya's French Lentil Soup on this site. The combination of flavors (especially the red wine) make it one of the most savory and comforting meals I've ever made.
My favorite is roasted veggies (brussel sprouts, green beans, butternut squash, garlic drizzeled with olive oil), brown rice and a crisp green salad.
Roasted butternut squash with cranberries, onions and tofu. I brought this to Thanksgiving and it was a big hit!
Ribollita (aka Tuscan soup) it has everything to keep you good and healthy, warm and full through the winter :)
From beans and kale to spinach and potatoes and yummy country bread. MMMMMM!!!
It would have to be either vegan chili made with soyrizo or kale white bean soup - it's a toss up!
My favorite winter veggie dish is winter squash risotto! :)>>>
It's a toss-up between Tofu Pot Pie and Seitan Shepherd's Pie. :)>>>
My all-time favorite winter dish (and now the favorite of all my close friends and relatives because I make it constantly!) is the Caramelized Onion-Butternut Roast with Chestnuts from the Veganomicon; my copy of which is encrusted with Bragg's, nutritional yeast and lots of other ingredients---the true sign of a wonderful cookbook! ;)b
Funny you mentioned Brussels sprouts. I just made them the other night. So today I will say a Brussels sprouts saute with red onions, garlic, crimini mushrooms, and walnuts. Seasoned with rosemary and freshly ground salt and pepper.
Pick me!!! Pick me!!!
Definitely kobucha squash soup! Just boil a cubed-up kobucha in some stock or water, add salt and pepper... and it's AMAZING!!
I love roasted brussel sprouts that are tossed in olive oil and lightly salt & peppered, then baked at 425 for about 25 minutes. They come out looking burned, but they're incredibly sweet and yummy.
