Superstar VegWebber of the Week: Veggydog!

First of all, this week's Superstar VegWebber has maybe the cutest name on the whole site? I mean, Veggydog! I love it! Luckily, Veggydog (http://vegweb.com/index.php?action=profile;u=63330) lives up to her awesome name. She's always fun and helpful in the forums, and perhaps most importantly (to me because I could live off this stuff), she's the creator of one of my most favorite recipes, Tiga Dege Na (West African Peanut Butter Stew) (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=30466)! I loooooooove this recipe, just looking at it now is making my mouth water. Three cheers for the talented and wonderful Veggydog!!

VegWebber since? September 2006

Vegetarian, Vegan or ? Vegan

Where do you call home? Mid-Atlantic U.S. (I tend to be shifty about my exact location...)

What do you do when you're not on VegWeb? Other than work? Mostly, I watch old movies (sometimes I do that while I am on VegWeb too).

Do you have blog or website? Nope (see my subnick).

Do you tweet? Oh, hell no.

One unique thing we should know about you? I'm pretty sure the only unique thing about me is my DNA.

What’s the best thing about being vegan? (if you are!) The feeling of reducing the harm that I cause (I know, boring answer).  Also having an excuse to talk and think about food a lot.

Favorite romantic recipe on VegWeb? We're not much for romance but, given that it's my husband's favorite dessert, Tofu Pumpkin Pie.

Favorite recipe on VegWeb to make for non-vegans to show them how amazing vegan food can be? Vegan Green Bean Casserole.  Many people have asked for the recipe.  That and Lisa's Chocolate Cake.

Favorite healthy recipe on VegWeb? Sonya's French Lentil Soup.  That's gotta be healthy, right?

Favorite VegWeb recipe for St. Patrick's Day? Jeez, I guess I'll have to try one...

One thing you wish you could make vegan but haven’t succeeded at yet? Corned "beef."  I tried making a seitan corned beef recipe once; it smelled like cake(!) and didn't taste like much of anything.  There are lots of things I just haven't tried to make because I'm too lazy.

#1 Cooking secret/tip? Pie crust doesn't need to be as hard as people try to make it.  Try a recipe that uses oil instead of "butter."  Trust me.  My mom is a professional pie maker.

Best music to cook by? Sirius Radio: Deep Tracks or Classic Vinyl

Three people you'd most like to have dinner with? Jon Stewart, David Sedaris, Jonathan Safran Foer (the first two could entertain me while the third one talks them both into veganism).

All time favorite restaurant? My Thai Vegan Cafe and Bubble Tea Bistro, Boston, Massachusetts

French fries or ice cream? Fries. No contest.

Soy milk, rice milk, almond milk? Soy milk.

Tofu, tempeh, or seitan? Seitan and tofu might be a toss up for first place.  Depends on my mood.  I generally like pre-flavored tempeh, but I haven't had much luck with preparing the plain stuff myself.

Veggydog is awesomeeeeeeeeeeee. One of the few vwbers I don't abbreviate name for....... VD just isn't quite the same. <3
