Superstar VegWebber of the Week: ska1234!

Our Superstar VegWebber this week, ska1234 (http://vegweb.com/index.php?action=profile;u=126919),  shares two of my favorite restaurants and just reading about what he loves to eat at the Chicago Diner and Food Swings made me hungry! Is it dinner time yet?? Also, now I need to go buy a carton of Earth Balance's chocolate soymilk! Sold! ska1234 obviously knows what's up when it comes to all things delicious. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first time we've had the other half of a VegWeb couple as a Superstar VegWebber? Of course, I'm talking about underSARAH (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=29678)!

Vegetarian, Vegan or ? Vegan power!!

Where do you call home? Home is wherever you make it. Currently I live in Brighton Michigan but I'm planning a move to Florida very soon.

What do you do when you're not on VegWeb? I play in a ska punk band called Skitch with a bunch of my best friends and work at my family garden center. I'm also a crazy cyclist and that takes up a lot of my time as well as skateboarding.

Do you have blog or website? Just facebook!

Do you tweet? I used to....

One unique thing should know about you? I shave my legs and its sexy.

What’s the best thing about being vegan? (if you are!) The insanely pure feeling that I get from knowing exactly what I put into my body at all times and knowing that no matter what, none of my animal comrades died in the making of anything I put my money into.

Favorite romantic recipe on VegWeb? Microwave brownies.

Favorite recipe on VegWeb to make for non-vegans to show them how amazing vegan food can be? Microwave brownies for sure!!

Favorite healthy recipe on VegWeb? Honestly everything I make unless its sweet is generally healthy. I remember a good whole grain pancake recipe that I loved.

Favorite VegWeb recipe for spring? Two words... Corn. Bread.

One thing you wish you could make vegan but haven’t succeeded at yet? I honestly have the hardest time imagining wanting anything that isn't already vegan. Like for a while it was custard filled donuts but I found those in Florida!

#1 Cooking secret/tip? Never peel your vegetables.

Best music to cook by? Oh man, anything ska, soul or reggae, or all three. The Slackers.

Three people you'd most like to have dinner with? I'd get nervous eating with anyone famous or anything like that so I'm going to say Sarah (my girlfriend; UnderSARAH), Sarah's dog Chad, and my mom.

All time favorite restaurant? I'm gonna have to go with Chicago Diner. The Reuben with sweet potato fries and a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade is the way to go. Also their enchiladas are insane! They must put a pound of daiya on everything. Can I just say that my second favorite restaurant is Foodswings in Brooklyn. I went there once for a show on this huge road trip and ended up eating like half the menu. I was watching a show and pulling seitan chicken drumsticks and bbq sauce out of my bag, milkshakes, chili cheese fries, burgers, philly cheese steaks, mmMMmm!

French fries or ice cream? Ice cream for sure.

Soy milk, rice milk, almond milk? Its like you know when you went out to breakfast as a kid and your mom wouldn't let you get the large chocolate milk even though you just chugged the small one and ordered another? Thats how I feel about Earth Balance chocolate soy milk except I end up drinking the entire thing.

Tofu, tempeh, or seitan? Tempeh wings. Viva vegan made me like seitan though.

Congrats!!
