Carnivorous parteners

So if you are a vegetarian and our boy/girl friend or even husband/wife are meat eaters do you make them clean their mouths at all after they eat meat before you will kiss them? I have wondered this and I am sure there are those of you who will aply to all of my options in the poll. If I were dating a meat eater I think I would request that they clean their mouths before I kiss them because I wouldnt want the meat they ate in my mouth or on my lips...

What about you? Thoughts on this subject? Am I crazy? :P :-X :o

that is a great question! i never thought about it! really though, my omni bf usually eats whatever i cook. so if he's eating meat its usually when he's not around me and i'm not sure he has any meat in the fridge right now. he's being very supportive of my new choices!

OMG! I really wish I could take part in this survey...but since I am terminally single and apparently undateable...I can't answer  :'( :'( :'(

However, I think if I did have a boyfriend I owuld just date a guy who was also a vegetarian and not have to worry about the whole thing!  But I'm thinking if I was dating an omni some teeth brushing would be in order!

Huh.  I never thought about that.
I'm married to a meat-and-potatoes man who thinks that being a vegetarian is weird, wrong, and unhealthy, so there's no way I would ask him to clean his mouth out before kissing me.  That would just be too much.

No, I don't personally care at all. But, then, I actually miss the taste of meat. I have willpower and can (and do) resist. But, I still miss it. So, it doesn't bother me at all to kiss him after he's done eating.

My BF eats meat (very little) and I never even thought about it.  He is so considerate about respecting my eating habits and I his.  As well, I love kissing him so it never occurred to me.  It hasn't grossed me out yet.
I was lucky meeting him because if I held out for a vegetarian, I doubt I would ever meet anyone as none of my friends are.  I am thankful that he doesn't eat much meat and loves vegetables and fruits.  He is also lactose intolerant so drinks soy milk.
I think I would want someone to brush their teeth more if they ate a strong smelling/tasting spice.
Although, my BF doesn't have a toothbrush at my place.  Maybe I will buy him one.  :)

I opted for "it really depends" as me and my beau encountered this situation quite early on in our rel'ship:  I hadn't long been veg when we first got together but I remember the look on his face on our first date when I wiped his kiss off my lips during a Chinese meal  :P - I explained myself and he learnt quick ... I still get plenty of  :-* :-* :-* tho 10 years on

YES. I agree, Di. Though my DH does ask me to drink strong black coffee after I've consumed gazpacho; but it's the raw garlic and vinegar combo he can't deal with. I guess I can understand that!!

I really want to be positive--but 8 years with out a realtionship has been pretty depressing--that means I haven't had a boyfriend since high school--I think I really may be a lost cause!

I'm not sure I would want to make out with my boyfriend if he had any remains of food in his mouth, meat or otherwise! lol!
He's usually pretty good about drinking something after he eats, and he keeps his mouth and teeth very clean.  It's not something I worry about.

How many quotes within quotes CAN one make?  hehe

Capture, don't give up hope.  I went for a ridiculously long time between relationships when I was in college...grad school...and beyond.  I dated here and there, but didn't have a "boyfriend".  I was able to get right back into the game, once I found the right guy online.
If there's no one in your area, sign up on at least one dating site.  I had great luck...  Anyway, you're gorgeous!  Guys are lined up somewhere waiting for you.  You just need to figure out where that que is.  lol!

My DH is definitely a carnivor! He's Germen and loves his meat and potatoes. But I didn't really think about this question until I saw it on here. He eats vegan food (depending on what it is), tofu and he eats as many veggies as I do, so it all depends, I guess. He is usually pretty good about drinking something after he eats, though. So it doesn't usually bug me.

I never thought about this!  Hmmmm now I'm confused, altough I dont have bf, of the people I have dated in the past, some have been carnivores, and now that I think of it, I never really thought about it haha...but I much more prefer someone who isn't a carnivore...I think from now on, yeah I would want them to at least use mouth wash, i wouldnt want the hint of animals floating around in my mouth.

Capture...not only are you beautiful, your posts are extremely intelligent.  I too went through many years single.  When I decided I no longer cared and stopped looking I met my current boyfriend.  Probably because I wasn't looking.  It just happened.  I think it had been 12 years since I had last had a boyfriend.
The last one being a liar face that failed to mention he was married.  He told me he was separated. NOT!

I know it can be hard especially the older we get.  Mainly because our friends are all married or in serious relationships and all their friends are married.  Please don't lose heart.  There is someone out there for you.  Stop looking and at some point, you will meet!

Or...join some clubs or something that you have an interest in.  Even something like bowling.  Learn to scuba dive, golf.....  You do meet people  and you will meet someone.  Maybe the reason you haven't met anyone yet is the perfect person hasn't met you yet.

My BF is everything I would have wanted in a man so maybe the long wait was so I would appreciate him more.

I was picky when I was younger and things I would not want in a man have changed over the years.  As well, things I wouldn't have cared about, I care about now.  Everything happens for a reason.

Keep being you and one day it will happen!

hugs
Di

Capture - I was single in high school. I was single in college, studying for my BA. At age 22, I had never been kissed, never had a boyfriend, never even held hands with a guy. My standards were SO high, that even if the guy had just ONE thing missing from "my list" ... I'd pass. I wanted it all ... or nothing. I'm a bit extreme like that.

At age 22, very randomly, I met my current S/O. Within a few months, I realized he had everything on my list and then some. That was it for me. I fell completely in love, and there was no going back. Two years later, we're still together. Once I'm done with my masters (this September!) we're eloping.  :D

So, you just never know when it will happen.
