New Vegan Baby :-D
I meant to post ages ago as I remember people talking about how their kids are and how some people say being vegan will mean you'll have a smaller than average baby etc So just wanted to say that after a vegan pregnancy I had a healthy baby boy on 1st June, which was four days early, and he weighed 8lb 12 (so not small!) he's called Emerson and he's doing really well.
He's a really hungry baby and I have happily managed to shock the midwives (they know I'm a vegan) as they were not only shocked by his initial size but also by the fact that on breast milk alone he was up to 11lb 3 after only a month! They actually left a message in my notes for the health visitor saying 'Emily has a vegan diet and knows more about nutrition than us so no discussion on diet is needed'
Also was really happy this time around as although I only had to stay in the hospital for the night, so only needed breakfast, they actually made a vegan menu specifically for me. This made me really happy as last time I had to make a complaint as after having my daughter they just didn't feed me!
Congratulations! That's so great that he's doing so well. It sounds like you had a good experience and have showed some people a thing or two about just what a vegan mama is capable of:)
Post some pics of Emerson!!!!
wow! congrats!
that is a huge baby!
yes, post some pics. :)
Congrats! I love his name!
:)
Congrats!
congratulations! Love hearing about all the sweet vegan babies!
thank you for all the congratulations, I'll upload some pictures soon :-D
congrats! sounds like you're a great momma. and yay for vegan food at the hospital, too :)
Okay; things have been really busy but in really lovely ways so haven't been able to get on here! My little boy is still doing so well; he's just 5 months old now but already in the 9-12 month clothes and it's not looking like he's going to be in them much longer!!! It does feel like most of my time is spent trying to wash and dry his clothes in the size up then just as I'm done he's moving on again!!
My daughter is doing so well too; she LOVES being a big sister and spends most of her time playing with her brother, the only difference in her is that she's become very fussy with food and is wanting me to feed her and I'm guessing that is because I feed Emerson and that it will go away with time and I'm just trying not to put pressure on her.
Anyway; I have uploaded some pictures so you can take a look at my giant (okay not quite!!) vegan baby!
